In order to better act as a citizen, for several weeks at the initiative of the League of Families, a group of learners in literacy and FLE met at La Rue asbl to understand what a stereotype is and how our prejudices are formed and to fight them.
Based on the surveying of various materials : excerpts from texts and children’s literature, educational animation tools, and viewing a selection of short films from La Vidéothèque Nomade, they have in particular, interested in social representations of the masculine and feminine, and in gender inequalities.
During these meetings, they addressed issues such as equality between men and women, the history of the fight for women’s rights, the distribution of roles in the family, mental load, professions, beauty, public space, consent, street harassment, etc.
On the occasion of this screening, they wish to extend and share with you the fruit of their reflections through a selection of short films that sometimes address with humor, sometimes with audacity and courage, some of the questions that have crossed their debates.
The programming is in progress and will be announced on June 17... But we already know 4 short films that will be part of it.
