Pilou no longer likes to play or even laugh. He can no longer stand the mockery of his friends about his big ears and still prefers to remain alone waiting for the darkness to make him disappear in the eyes of all.
But as night falls, Pilou sees his ears grow, open, become so huge that he feels himself on the verge of flying away. Driven by a cloud of swallows, he takes off and embarks on a magnificent journey.
