Festival Bandits Mages - carte blanche

Within the framework of this carte blanche we decided to program three documentaries of creation.

Programm :

- Border by Laura Waddington (27’ - 2004 - ov st fr - UK)
In 2002, Laura Waddington spent months in the fields around Sangatte Red Cross camp, France with Afghan and Iraqi refugees, who were trying to cross the channel tunnel to England.
Filmed at night with a small video camera, the figures lit only by the distant car headlights on the motorways, Border is a personal account of the refugees’ plight and the police violence that followed the camp’s closure.

- Euroland by Patrick Taliercio (28’ - 2005 - ov st en - BE)

- Sub by Julien Loustau (45’ - 2006 - ov - FR)
Lake Vostok is a prisoner under Antartic ice, isolated from the rest of the world for millions of years.
This exceptional environment may harbour unknown life-forms. The only technology which would allow us to reach the lake without the risk of contaminating it would be the cryobot, a probe conceived by Nasa for the exploration of sub-glacial oceans on Mars and in Europe...
